Why?

When u sit down for an inner conversation
When loneliness is the only realization
Life seems anything but something smooth
When you aren’t strong enough to accept the truth

Relations fade away with the passage of time
Every attachment, every emotion – isn’t worth a dime
Are all the virtues you thrive on
- just tools for earning pain
Are friendship, honesty, candidness, emotions
- just “words” meant to go in vain…
Then why are we made to believe they are something so true
When they are so easily forgotten when it comes to you

Life would be so easy without them
If we could just chase money and fame
Simply shove away everyone in our path
And compete with inhuman bitterness in the money game

There would be no question of sharing
You won’t care a damn about caring
Selfishness would be the order of the day
You’ll hurt millions and yet wont sway..

If your own happiness is just what matters
Irrespective of the feelings that en route it shatters
Then why allow someone to come so close
And then on his face you shut your doors
Then why in the first place
You try to be nice
When you can’t carry on
And someone else pays the price

Remember it’s not an engine
- but a human heart
Feelings are embedded deep within
You just can’t switch off…and restart!

Journey through the night...

Walking by the rusted fence
Stars illuminating the eerie night
The odd car breaking the silence
Honking by with momentary blinding light.

You wonder as the clock ticks by…
Eyelids play shroud to the sleeping world
Abstract memories and thoughts passing by
You know not why reality seems dulled

Here comes your friend to question you
Provides you company but the world can’t see
The pal with whom you can’t help being true
Your conscience’s counsel is here for free

Why does he invade your grey cells
When you just wanna relax
You try to avoid but it rebels
Seeping through those inhuman cracks

He’s the root to all confusion
The more you converse – its more disturbing
You’ll still embrace his burning sensation
To deepen those cracks that are remaining

Without your knowledge, you’ve reached your door
Your unwelcome guest is here to stay
So you play host till the sun does show
And the morning welcomes the new cracks in fray…
